Awesome Online Jobs for Teens That Make Money

How to stay motivated when working from home

Online Jobs for Teens That Are Cheap or Free to Start

Teenagers have huge options available to them when it comes to earning money online these days.  And the opportunity is real for them to go beyond just online jobs for teens and actually create a business. A business that can draw in a significant re-occurring income.

Fortunately, the days of the milk runs and the paper delivery jobs have been replaced. More lucrative work at home opportunities exist for teens with a bit of talent and flair.

Online Options Stack Up Well

I recall the inconvenience that this caused to the other members of my family when I used to do it as a teen. Plus, depending on where you live, it just isn’t safe.

Thankfully, there are options online that can be much more fulfilling and more profitable for teenagers. Especially for those who have the lean towards the internet rather than the more physical jobs.

Sell Stuff On EBay!

An easy option for young adults is selling items on EBay. They can also try drop-shipping through manufacturers and wholesaler.
Click Here! for information on drop shipping wholesalers and platforms

Drop shipping is where the manufacturer manages the products and distribution. You just advertise it and handle the sale.

Drop shipping means that you can pick products to sell on EBay, or better still, your own website. The manufacturer handles all the stock movement and customer service. The drawback is that you need to fund the sale of the item until the merchant pays you.

Having items to sell physically is not that hard to arrange either.

All teens will have stuff that they no longer use from when they were younger – whether it be old CDs, DVDs, books, toys, clothes or sporting equipment.

It all sells on EBay – you just have to be truthful about the quality and condition of the items.

Another option is to raid the local garage sales – but best not to hold stock unless you are into making your own craft items.

Selling on EBay can be a very rewarding career. Just don’t get caught up in the MLM schemes that promise the world through EBay selling … do it yourself and control your profits and integrity.

YouTube for profit.

This one I am not really experienced at myself. However, I have been watching my 11-year-old son weave his magic setting up for a YouTube campaign.

He is not a teenager yet but is into creating reviews and commentaries on games and mods etc. (I obviously am hoping he will do well and keep me in the lifestyle I have become accustomed to – in a non-child exploiting, slave labour sort of way)

Seriously – there are options for creative teens to really clean up on the internet using YouTube and linking these to either a website of their own and affiliate advertising.

Contract Projects – Fiverr

Teens with a flair for creative writing or artistically motivated kids can try their hand a contract work. For example through groups like Fiverr, who can manage their work and payments. Additionally, this gives them some security by not having to deal directly with online customers.

Through these groups they can get contracts for writing blogs, stories, articles through to animation, logo designing, YouTube video productions …what ever you can think about.

This is a great potential earner for talented teens.

Earn on Amazon and Clickbank with Ebooks and Short Stories.

Amazon and Clickbank are always after new talent to sell their Ebooks and novels.

Whilst both will take a commission from your sales. Basically, they will give you a great medium with a massive exposure for posting your short stories, novels or Ebook for sale.

There is a lot of competition, sure, but if you have a talent then you will be recognised and can earn good money on sales of your books if they are good or useful.

Blogging and Affiliate Marketing

This, by far, receives my highest recommendation.

Today, I just watched a news report on TV about a 14-year-old and his mate, who set up a website to sell toys. They are making a killing.

However, their mother picks up stock from China on work trips that they sell on her return.

But imagine if they didn’t require stock and could get access to a huge catalogue of products and earn commission for sales.

This is affiliate marketing – and it is entirely possible to make this opportunity the ultimate in online jobs for teens.

The experience of teens these days really lend themselves to creating some fabulous blog or content sites.  Young adults, in general, have experienced a huge range of activities that can be turned into niche subjects.

These niches can be used for creating profitable content websites where they can write information or reviews that other teens will be interested in or are actively searching for on the internet. Music, sports, school work, girl and boyfriend relationships, clothes .. the list goes on.

Kids are natural authorities on all these subjects.

Affiliate Marketing can be started for next to nothing – in fact with programs such as Wealthy Affiliate they can get training, functional websites and hosting, with FREE start up.

So it is a great introduction to online jobs for teens by creating cool websites and earning commissions, from some of the great affiliate groups like Amazon and eBay.

  1. Wow you’ve got some fantastic suggestions here! It really does pay to think outside of the box hey! As you said the good old paper run is not as profitable as it once was and does rely on others to ferry you around.
One of my friends always talks about her kid’s needing more money yet struggling to find a job without experience (the old catch 22). I’ll point her to come and have a look at your site as it’s something they can do from home and she doesn’t have to be the taxi Mother anymore 😉

    1. HI Amanda, If only this sort of thing was around when I was a teenager, lol. I did a paper run for a while and made a loss ( if you include the petrol mum used driving me around ). My son has already started a website where he posts his Youtube videos .. it just seems to come naturally tot them.

  2. I love the idea of Youtube for teens because it seems like that are so much more comfortable behind the camera than us older folks. Myy daughter actually watches Youtube all the time to learn how to do different things. I bet this would be a great option for teens.

    1. Too right Wendy… Teenagers these days seem to have a lot of confidence in front of cameras. If they can link up their Youtube videos with their own website, even better. They can target all sorts of niches.

  3. I believe that everything said here is so on point. Teenagers as well as adults have such a limitless number of opportunities available to them when it comes to earning online. Looking at how quickly the Internet is evolving, an in my opinion will never stop. Also people are becoming more tech savvy by the minute, especially the younger generation of today who grew up in the technological era. Everything can be found online today no matter what it may be and it is also most persons first source of information. So an online business is definitely the way to go as far as I’m concerned. I believe it will never come to a point of exhaustion. Just as an addition I also think GPT sites are also a great way to earn income.

    1. Hi Dorian, Yes mate you have hit it on the head. The future is online, so online jobs for teens is the way to go, for sure. They all study IT at school now so their understanding is much greater that their parents , in most cases.

GPT sites are also good but I like the long term residual income that can be made through niche marketing. Certainly worth diversifying and doing some GPT site activities.

Thanks heaps for your input. cheers, James
